US: Medicinal benefits in mushrooms

They are a popular addition to many meals, but how many people are aware of the alleged medicinal benefits of certain fungi? Traditional Asian medicine has utilised the healing qualities of mushrooms for centuries and now modern research suggests there may be some value to this. Results indicate possible anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and even anti-cancer qualities may be present in certain types of mushroom.
