Dole mushroom powder nominated for award

DOLE Vitamin D Mushroom Powder has been selected as one of four finalists for the Best New Finished Product category at NutrAwards 2012.

The product is made from Portobello mushrooms; one teaspoon of it provides 150% of an adult's GDA of vitamin D, and it can be added into a very wide range of foods, a press release reports. It is the world's first plant-based vitamin D supplement - others are made from sheep fat, fish livers or yeast. This makes it an attractive option to the vegetarian market.
