Geraedts, Thilot, and Lemmen merge to form GTL Europe

Leading supplier in the mushroom-growing and composting sector

Venlo - Geraedts, Thilot, and Lemmen – three leading suppliers in the mushroom-cultivation and composting sector – will merge on 1 January 2013 to form GTL Europe. The combined strengths of the three companies will enable GTL Europe to attain a worldwide top-three position in the sector. GTL Europe will start with an annual turnover of more than 20 million euros and a bulging order portfolio for 2013. The owners of the three companies will form the management board, with Jack Lemmen as CEO.

Stronger together

The merger is taking place because the market for the construction of mushroom-growing and composting facilities is continuing to grow and internationalise, and is becoming more complex all the time. This situation calls for a strong player with all the necessary disciplines on hand. The product ranges of the three companies complement one another perfectly and will enable GTL Europe to deliver a full package of products for building mushroom-growing and composting facilities. The company will set itself apart from the competition by focusing strongly on product innovation, sustainability, user-friendly systems, and robust after-sales.

More jobs

The seventy-odd workers at the three Limburg companies need not fear for their jobs. The merger will not lead to redundancies. On the contrary, GTL Europe is determined to expand in the next few years and create more jobs. The new company will be run from the office in Venlo. The four production sites in Swalmen, Lottum, and Venlo will continue to be operational for the time being.
