Xiamen Ruyiqing Flammulina Velutipes Automatic (white needle mushrooms) Production and Processing Base, the largest one of its kind in China, will begin operation in Xiang’an district, the city of Xiamen, Fujian province on July 1.

The factory covers an area of 56,900 square meters, with a total investment of 360 million yuan ($58.7 million), and it will use South Korea’s advanced edible fungus automatic production line and a leading domestic automatic sterilizer, which combine an artificial simulating ecological environment, intelligent control and automated machine.

The factory is expected to produce 8360 tons of white needle mushrooms, with a production value of 80 million yuan, by the end of the year.

The daily output of the edible fungi cultivation area will reach 200,000 bottles, and its annual output is expected to reach 25,080 tons, with a value of 240 million yuan.

Due to considerations regarding the environment and recycling of resources, the company will turn the mushroom dregs into organic fertilizer for farming, and dried mushroom dregs will also be used as boiler fuel, which will save 500,000 cubic meters of natural gas annually.
