Mushroom study tour to Yunnan, China 2012
From August 31 – September 6, 2012 ECO Consult Foundation organizes a 7 day tour following the ISMS (International Society for Mushroom Science) Congress in Beijing, China. Our tour will bring us to the province of Yunnan and the tour focuses on agriculture and mushroom cultivation while paying attention to the typical Chinese highlights. We will be visiting several agricultural and mushroom companies.
Yunnan’s weather is known for its mild climate all year round, which is a welcome change to hot Beijing in summer. We will be visiting Kunming, Chuxiong, Dali and Lijiang.
Kunming, the capital of Yunnan is known as the city of eternal spring for its pleasant climate and flowers blooming all year long. We will be staying for two days in Kunming and will be visiting several mushroom companies, the "golden temple”, the flower trade and a wild mushroom market.
Halfway on our way to Dali we will visit two mushroom farms near Chuxiong.
Dali is a famous Chinese cultural city and a national scenic zone. We will visit the Three Pagodas of Chongsen Temple, a mushroom company and a vegetable market. The tour will also include hunting for wild mushrooms in the forests.
We will then travel to Lijiang which is considered a fairyland blessed with fresh air, clear streams and an undisturbed landscape. We will visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge and the old city in Lijiang, which is known for its trade in wild mushrooms.
On the way back to Kunming we will visit the Guanyin valley.
