Few foods are naturally rich in vitamin D. Good sources include fatty fish such as salmon and tuna. However, all mushroom species contain ergosterol, and upon exposure to UV light from the sun or artificial light, this provitamin D is converted through a photochemical reaction to vitamin D.


That´s why wild mushrooms can contain high amounts of vitamin D due to sunlight exposure. On the other hand, the vitamin D content of cultivated button mushrooms is minimal, because they are cultivated indoors without the benefit of sunlight.


Our Vitamin D-Booster systems will fix the production and growing process-related nutrient deficiency in less than 1 second.

Health claims are any information on labels and advertising stating that health benefits can result from consuming Vitamin D-Mushrooms. The following health claims have been approved by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) for Vitamin D-Mushrooms:

• Regulates the immune system
• Improves muscle strength
• Important for healthy bones and bone strength
• Important for good teeth mineralization

General specifications of our LED systems:

• All LED systems are equipped with the LED2D^® technology for which a patent is pending. We developed a completely new LED technology approach for the production of Vitamin D-Mushrooms. A unique wavelength combination of two different wavelengths switched in series was found to be the most efficient regarding vitamin D synthesis combined with lowest yield of undesired photoproducts. In addition we reached an extra-long vitamin D stability of up to 9 days!
• 1 production line for single-layer packed punnets without foliation or cover
• Step-free adjustability of the production of mushrooms with vitamin D levels from 1-20 µg/100 g (40-800 IU/100 g) at end-consumer stage
• Production rate is 75-100 punnets/min for mushrooms with a vitamin D level of 15 µg/100 g (if lower vitamin D level is targeted: production rate will be even much higher)
• All main components including the LED2D^® module are manufactured exclusively in Germany!

1. LEDcompact-Booster (LCB)

The LEDcompact device will be delivered with a perfectly fitting housing to reach 100% occupational safety by full UV protection. In addition our LCB systems are equipped with our LED Lifetime Boost System for increasing the UV-LED lifetime up to 25%. Natural LED power loss over time must be regulated via regularly mobile disc UV measurements combined with belt speed adjustments.

1. LEDcompact (LC)

This is the most economical solution for smaller mushroom producer and retailer! The LEDcompact devices must be integrated into a system including some simple UV shieldings and a conveyor with speed adjustability. Natural LED power loss over time must be regulated via regularly mobile disc UV measurements combined with belt speed adjustments.
